The Social Network: the kink meme!

just checking in to let you guys know some things.

firstly, an apology for my absence. i've just moved house and i've been trying to sort everything out, so i'm now back on board and looking to clean this up.

secondly, delicious! it always comes back to delicious, mostly because i am mindful of everything you guys have been saying about how far behind we are with it. we've had people working as hard as they can to tag stuff, but we lost a few people from the team. we've just had one more person offer to help but i can't remember if anyone else was willing to help out. if you have free time over the summer that you can spare to help out, i would love to know.

there's also the matter of the ideas you raised over at the suggestions post and i'm doing my best to cover all of them.

a beta post will be going up pretty shortly for people to ask for beta help. obviously, this is only for those who want to help out in that capacity. i'm not sure how this should work (if people post in the comments what they're willing to beta, or if people post in the comments about fics they want beta-d - any suggestions you guys have would be great)

there will also be a new post going up for research and a seperate comm for anon concrit. this is because i can then keep an eye on it should things get out of hand. HOWEVER, this comm is only going to work in the way that AUTHORS post to the comm on fills they want con-critted. this isnt going to be a free-for-all. it's up to the authoer then, if they want to get con-crit or not and there's no hoo-hah over people con-critting fics from authors who dont want it.

if there's anything else you want me to see/anything else you think i should deal with, please let me know!

there has also been interested in a twitter account for people who can't/have issues with the spreadsheet. i'd like to know your thoughts on this as well so that i can get back to the person that mentioned it! i did think about this before, but i wasnt sure how well it would sit with people :/

just an update about delicious because i know we're holding out on you guys and it's not fair.

eta second; WE WILL BE MOVING THE DELCIOUS ACCOUNT. i know this might seem like the worst to all of you right now, especially if you have things bookmarked yourselves, but it's the only thing we can do without going back and changing url's or by making more work for ourselves. this way, everything is still bookmarked and we can tag all of the new stuff without repeating ourselves.

of course, there will be a transition period. the new delicious is TSNkinkmemeArchive. as you can see, everything is already moved over and we're in the process of tagging things right now.

the reason we've had so much trouble as of late is because livejournal changed the URL's used to access everything and it's messed with the delicious add-on which means that we can't tell what's been tagged and what hasn't. we're in the process of deciding what to do about this but EVERYTHING will be tagged within the next two weeks. i have an exam on monday and then i break up for the summer so i promise, i will be around to make sure everything is tagged and this comm is running as smoothly as possible. thank you all for taking this so well because i know it's frustrating and i know it's not the best thing when your mod fails you!

i hope you all bear with us just a little bit longer and we'll have the delicious back on track :D

sorry that some of my comments as mod have been from my personal journal. i keep forgetting to log out although i have a feeling most of you have known who i was from the beginning. WHATEVER. i can't promise i won't keep doing it, haha.

the WIP spreadsheet

THE URL HAS CHANGED. the new spreadsheet can be found here. yukireizei has been working ridiculously hard with a team of (?) helpers to update the spreadsheet and so i think we should all thank her from the bottom of our hearts. i handed the torch over because there's only so much one mod can do before she loses her mind! anyway, please note the new change because the old spreadsheet will be DELETED as soon as most people are aware of the change so don't freak out if it goes missing - just update bookmarks etc. with the new information!

delicious tagging

talking of awesome teams: the delicious team ARE aware that most of the prompts of parts three and five have yet to be added (we are getting there, slowly!). there have been some issues with the firefox delicious add-on and it not longer tells us if something's already been bookmarked, so we're having to go through manually and check everything. we apologise for the delay - and for the fact that i keep offering up apologies but i thought at least if i told you, you wouldn't curse me behind the scenes for being a lazy mod! i'm far from, i assure you!

also on a delicious note: the fill list is in much the same predicament. i'm doing it manually, but your links will be updated to show fills, i promise!

new fill rules

as some of you may have noticed, there are new fill rules! i mentioned this in the new post but somebody mentioned that they don't always read the full entry and wanted a new post. i have to add to this that i fully recommend that you actually read the entry - not only does it lay out all the rules, it also helps me if you read because it means i don't get secretly annoyed and cry to my friends that people don't listen re: order of pairings, putting a subject header in at all or filling the entries properly.

which leads to the point of the new rule: it's easier for both tagging and for the WIP spreadsheet if you reply to the prompt with the first part of fill. then, for further parts you reply to the first part of your fill, not the prompt. so in essence it will go like this:

this just makes it easier for everyone involved. rest assured that yukireizei is taking time out from her real life commitements to help and it's not easy for the taggers if this doesn't happen. i never wanted to be a stern mod with loads of rules who enforces them but i'm afraid i'm going to have to be with this one. if you don't fill it this way from now on, i'll leave a comment politely asking you to do so and i will delete any comments that need to be deleted, following request. if the fill isn't then subsequently filled the way that's laid out in the rules, i'll leave a second comment asking you to do so. it's a third strike rule here, guys. i'll only ask three times - then i'll think of something really horrible to do. i don't want to have to ask three times which is why there's no punishment yet - i'm hoping it won't get that far! i just want to make life easier for as many people as possible.

i want us all to get along!

i realise there is plenty of prompts to tag on delicious and i know there are a lot of WIPs to update on the list.

i've been busy with university and i'm working saturday but i will be around on sunday and i will try and get everything up to date.
